Welcome to the

🧰 Grove Kit Emulator

An Arduino UNO R4 with the Grove kit, right in your browser. Write real Arduino code, plug in the sensors and see your project come alive, at home and without the hardware.

⚠️ This is a learning simulator, not a real Arduino
  • Your code is compiled by a real C++ compiler, but it runs in your browser, not on the Arduino's chip. The board, the shield and every sensor and actuator are imitated in JavaScript.
  • Timing, memory limits and electrical behaviour (voltages, currents, noise, wiring mistakes) are not like on the real board, and sensor values are made up from the sliders.
  • Only the libraries of the kit are available.
  • In browsers other than Chrome or Edge, or without internet, a simpler simulator runs your code; it supports less of C++.
Always test your project on the real kit.
🎓Exercises from the University of Antwerp

The exercises come from the course Elektronische aspecten van producten (Electronic Aspects of Products, EAVP) in Product Development at the University of Antwerp. Each one shows its tasks above the code.

🔌Plug in like the real kit

Take parts from the tray and plug them into the ports of the Grove shield: buttons, sensors, LEDs, a servo, an LCD and an IMU.

⚙️Real C++ compiler, simulated hardware

A real C++ compiler (clang) checks and compiles your sketch, so errors show up like in the Arduino IDE. The program then runs in your browser, not on an Arduino chip: the board, sensors and actuators around it are simulated in JavaScript.

🚀How to start

Pick an exercise or example from the menu, plug in the parts it needs, and click Upload & run. Use Chrome or Edge.

🧰 What's in the kit

Grove is a plug-and-play system by Seeed Studio: every sensor and actuator is a small module that connects to the Arduino with the same 4-wire cable, without soldering or a breadboard. Click a part to see its official page.

❓ How does it work?

  1. Write your sketch like in the Arduino IDE, or pick one from the menu.
  2. Plug in the parts you use: click a part in the tray, or drag it onto a port of the shield.
  3. Upload & run (or Ctrl + Enter).
  4. Play: hold the buttons, drag the sliders and the joystick, watch the serial monitor and plotter.

Libraries you can use

Your sketches

Type a name next to Sketch and click 💾 Save: the sketch is kept in this browser under Your sketches in the menu, and a copy is downloaded.

What happens behind the scenes

Always test your project on the real kit.
